Killing Them Softly

By Ilana Holt

Everyone thought they were safe

Safe from everything scary

Everything mysterious

Everything that kept them up at night

Of course they wouldn’t know

They would never know

The things that lurk

Behind them

Around them

In the trees with spindly branches

In a cloud of fog

In complete darkness

Would too soon kill them slowly

Without knowing

Without fearing

Without every truly being

Alive

Poetry

A Dazzling Dream

By Aliza Siddiqui

My dream is to live life to the fullest.

Free from all boundaries. Free from all limits.

My dream is to sing freely.

Free from all notes and all tunes, pitch and chords of creativity

My ...more

Soldier

By Allysa Quiambao

It’s hard to imagine the pain you've suffered.

It’s difficult to see you at your lowest point.

Each blow seems to come continuously.

And every time you rise, your legs go weak, ...more

Us: Dedicated to the SCHS Dance Team

By Anelisse Maciel

It will all be worth wild

when we make it.

The hot spiraling lights,

shaking bodies.

Not from the cold,

but from anxiety.

Striking our bones,

hitting our inner core

with pins and needles

.

We ...more

Where is My Snow?

By The Queen

The white is not there to blanket our nature.

Replaced by a green spread of earth.

What happened to my snow?

From coating the trees in their bare barks.

To them wearing a dress of red and ...more

Can't You Find it?

By Miss Mea

The feeling when you get back a test and did worse than you thought,

and you can fell the anxiety attack coming

When you go to take a breath of air

and your lungs defy you

Hearing your best friend say “no I would rather shoot you before that happens”

with a straight face

Begging your boyfriend not to pull the trigger

without having an explanation when asked about the last time you’ve cried

Being told “just stop it”

when anxiety and depression have no controlled off switch

Realizing the world is a big place

time goes on

and you are really

stardust and

nothing.

Dark matter isn’t space. It’s mind. It’s misery.
