WASC Accreditation

What is WASC?

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges is the institution in charge of confirming the quality of schools and granting school accreditation.

In 2006, Santa Clara completed its self-study for WASC and was given a 6-year accreditation with a mid-term visitation in 2009.  In 2012, Santa Clara completed its self-study for WASC, and was give a 6-year accreditation with a mid-term visitation.

SCHS is currently going through the 2018 WASC Accreditation process in 2017-2018.  The first step is a comprehensive Self Study, submitting that Self Study to WASC in January 2018.  This Self Study looks at many aspects of the school in terms of what we are doing well and where we have areas for growth.  It culminates in a draft of an action plan that will guide us for the next several years.  In March 2018, a visiting team from WASC will visit the school to verify the report and make suggested changes to our action plan.  Based on their feedback, the school will finalize the action plan and submit it to WASC for approval.
